THREE-WAY DEAL DONE
BY NINO BUCCI
TRAVIS JOHNSTONE has became a Lion, Cameron Wood is now a Magpie and the No. 14 draft selection belongs to the Demons after the most complicated deal of this year’s trade week was finalised today.
Collingwood have traded their No. 14 selection in the national draft to Brisbane in exchange for ruckmen Cameron Wood, before the Lions then on-traded that pick to Melbourne for former No. 1 draft pick Travis Johnstone.
Despite earlier speculation that Magpie Rhyce Shaw would also figure in the trade, the defender did not figure in the completed deal.
It was the fourth deal to have been completed over the four days of trade week, with Adelaide’s Martin Mattner and John Meesen traded to Sydney and Melbourne respectively and Chris Judd traded to Carlton along with the No. 46 draft pick in exchange for Josh Kennedy and draft selections three and 20.
